How to Identify Cyberbullying: For Students!

1) Know what cyberbullying is: Cyberbullying (noun) (cy·ber·bul·ly·ing) using electronic communication to bully a person, usually in the form of sending mean or threatening messages

2) The different parties involved in a cyberbullying encounter:

  • The target: the person being cyberbullied
  • The offender: the person who is doing the cyberbullying
  • The upstander: the person who speaks up or intervenes in the situation
  • The bystander: the person who is present in a situation but does not partake in any way

We prepare our students for the real digital world by equipping them to identify behaviors that they encounter online, including cyberbullying. The more our kids know when entering the internet, the better they will be able to make smart, informed online decisions.
